UMDR adventurous volunteer willow control canoe day

Date:

17 Jan 2015 (All day)

The NSWDPI Habitat Action Grant program has funded the UMDR to control instream willows along 45km of the upper Murrumbidgee River, in the NSW section of the reach (Bredbo to Angle Crossing).

The project involves teams of volunteers paddling the river and controlling willows along the way. Canoe teams will be escorted by trained and experienced river guides.

This event is a one day trip, canoeing 16km of the Murrumbidgee River between Bumbalong and Lawler Rd.  No canoeing experience is necessary and all canoeing equipment is provided.  Good fitness is required. Section includes flat water as well as some rapid sections (grade 2).

Adventurous volunteers are rewarded with a trip along a particularly scenic part of the Murrumbidgee.
