Community Voices in Reserve Management

Friday 11 September, 9:00am - 5:00pm 

Join us for the day to hear from community volunteers and environment staff about reserve management, knowledge gained from through close observations and monitoring and share in an opportunity to ask questions of fellow volunteers and ACT Government staff. The day is taking place at Yarramundi Reach and will be a relaxed day of knowledge sharing, interesting presentations and socialising.  Lunch and refreshments are included in your registration.

 Dinner 7:00pm - For those wishing to continue on after the forum, a dinner is being organised at the cosy Kingston Hotel. The dinner is an excellent chance to catch up with fellow ParkCarers and Landcarers in a relaxed atmosphere.  A speaker is being organised and details will be available shortly.  The cost of the dinner is $38 and will payable on the night. Drinks will be available from the bar. Please indicate when you are registering for the event if you will be attending the dinner. 

Saturday 12 September, 9: 00am – 3:00pm

Catch a bus from the Namadgi Visitors Centre car park to Gudgenby Valley in Namadgi National Park. Here, we will hear from the Gudgenby Bush Regenerators and ACT Parks and Conservation staff about the different activities they have implemented over many years to rehabilitate the former Boboyan pine plantation. Projects have included extensive pine wilding removal; rabbit control programs and revegetation activities. The bus will return to the visitors centre at 3:00pm. 

Please bring a packed lunch with you, morning tea will be provided.
