Canberra Bushwalkers Club - walks for families
Monga Forest Walk 3 April leaving Queanbeyan at 9am
This walk aims to introduce kids in the 6 + age range to the Monga rain forest.
The rainforest is protected by a 500 metre band of thick, sometimes prickly, scrub and tree ferns, which will take us about 30 minutes to traverse, after which we will explore the forest and a small pristine creek and look for monkey vines. 4 km, ascent/descent 130 metres.
Mostly open understory after the scrub, with some steep sections of loose soil in the forest.
We will return by the same route so there is the option for people to stop and wait. The pace will also suit photographers and botanisers. 9am departure from Queanbeyan.
Inquiries to Walk Leader: Linda Groom firstname.lastname@example.org - 6281 4917.
