Parkcarers of Southern Murrumbidgee - May activity

7 May 2016 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

Meet: at the pipeline track on Woodcock Ave, Saturday 9.00am. Please ring Lauren to confirm meeting place on 0478 222 238, or email

Planned activities: planting some Casuarinas and working on the overflow pipe from the dam to prevent erosion. We'll be moving rocks to raise the level of the dam spillway and to create a leaky weir along the north-south arm of Barney's Gully. We may also need to do some watering, depending on rainfall between now and then. If you'd prefer to take photos or do bird or wildlife observations, we'd be happy to have you along too!

Please wear suitable clothes and sturdy footwear, a sense of humour, and bring water.

Last month: for our April activity we watered plantings around the dam and in Strangers Paddock below the pipeline track. It was great to see how well most of them are doing. We also did cut & dab weeding of woody weeds in the paddock, mostly briar and small blackberries, and chipped out the stray serrated tussock we came across. Thanks to everyone for a great morning's work.
