Green Army Round 3 Teams for the ACT

Minister Greg Hunt, the Federal Environment Minister announced the successful applicants for Round 3 of the Green Army Programme on 24 June in Canberra.

One of the recipients was Landcare ACT who has received approval for a two-year project, which uses Green Army teams to supplement the work of committed local volunteers. This is the first project of the newly formed peak body for community landcare in the ACT - Landcare ACT.

Save Lake Tuggeranong

Call for action to Save Lake Tuggeranong

A recent community forum called for government and community action to solve pollution problems in Lake Tuggeranong.

The forum, held at the Tuggeranong Community Centre, was jointly hosted by the Southern ACT Catchment Group (SACTCG), Concerned Residents for West Kambah (CROWK) and the Tuggeranong Community Council (TCC).

2011 ACT LANDCARE AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

Dr Chris Bourke MLA, Member for Ginninderra, today presented Landcare awards to the ACT community celebrating our local environment.

The Landcare Awards showcase and recognise the efforts of members of the community involved in natural resource management. 

"The ACT Landcare Awards and ACT Landcare Week provide recognition for the exceptional work carried out by the many hundreds of Landcare workers and volunteers in the Territory," Dr Bourke said.

The following is a list of Landcare Week activities in the ACT in September 2011. Where information is available – contact details for each group has been provided. In some cases it has not been possible to provide these details. Typically with most Landcare activities you should wear a hat and warm, sturdy clothes and shoes and bring water and a snack. Equipment is provided if it is a working bee.
