Aranda Snow Gums weeding

We will continue weed control in Aranda Snow Gums reserve focusing on St John's wort and Paterson's curse. It looks as if it is going to be a bumper season for the wort again. There is strong growth from anything that escaped our beady eyes last season. We will dig it out under the herbicide-sensitive Snow Gums to the two meter mark outside their dripline may also tackled scattered wort in the forb-rich grasslands. The scattered Paterson's curse is easy to identify and still small enough to dig or hit with Zero wands.

Black Mountain Wildflower Ramble

Celebrate the diversity of spring wildflowers in the 41st annual Burbidge/Chippendale walk with Peter Ormay, Laurie Adams, Isobel Crawford and Jean Geue. Following the tradition set by Nancy and George of National Parks Association, this will be a social occasion with a morning tea break (BYO), relatively easy grades and good company.
