Friends of Jerrabomberra Wetlands Working Party

Saturday, 19 July 2014 - 10:00am

Our weekend revegetation activity on the 3rd Saturday will start at 10am from the Wetlands offices at 10am. What we do depends on a few factors like plants being ready and stumps being cleared. But don't worry, there's always plenty to do!

Weeding in February 2013

Task: to remove Billardiera heterophylla (Sollya, Bluebell creeper),  Acacia baileyana (Cootamundra wattle) and other weeds in the ANBG perimeter area on Black Mountain. We shall be walking to the site of several of the weeds. Delicious Morning Tea at 10.00am.

Meet: At the junction of Clunies Ross Street and Black Mountain Drive.

Aranda Snow Gums weeding

We will continue weed control in Aranda Snow Gums reserve focusing on St John's wort and Paterson's curse. It looks as if it is going to be a bumper season for the wort again. There is strong growth from anything that escaped our beady eyes last season. We will dig it out under the herbicide-sensitive Snow Gums to the two meter mark outside their dripline may also tackled scattered wort in the forb-rich grasslands. The scattered Paterson's curse is easy to identify and still small enough to dig or hit with Zero wands.
