Guys - Don't let the ladies do the hard yakka
You’ve heard of speed dating, well this is speed planting.  If you want to try something new, fun and environmental register soon.  Plant a new tree with a new person every eight minutes then join everyone over a free tasty bbq lunch.  Even if you don’t meet your match, at least you will feel fantastic having done something for the environment. Women's places are now full - women's names now go on a waiting list unless you can bring along a single male friend to keep the numbers even.

Where: Wetlands Centre, Jerrabomberra Wetlands Nature Reserve, Dairy Road, Fyshwick - an extension of Newcastle Street. Look for the Greening Australia signs.

National Tree Day – Follow up care

Come back to the National Tree Day planting area behind The Fair in North Watson. Help remove pesky weeds around the young plants, give some extra protection by placing woody debris around the guards and improve the site by direct seeding of native grass and flowering plants. If you sponsored a tree come and see how it is doing!

October Bug Blitz

Waterwatch wants YOU for the October Bug Blitz!

Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch is looking for volunteers to help us on our Bug Blitz. Macro-invertebrates (water bugs) are an excellent indicator of stream health and we need to get an adequate set of data from across the region to feed into our Catchment Health Indicator Program (CHIP).

ACT Centenary Bioblitz: 25th-27th October 2013

Roll up your sleeves and throw on your hiking gear for Canberra's first ever collaborative race to identify as many plant and animal species living on Black Mountain!

Headquartered at the CSIRO Discovery Centre, the ACT Centenary Bioblitz will bring together scientists, naturalists and members of the public to record a snapshot of the region's biodiversity in a short period of time. It's citizen science in action!
