Parkcarers of Southern Murrumbidgee - July activity

Planned activities: Monitoring our previous plantings, watering if needed, and fixing up tree guards; recording where weeds are so we can do later follow up work; we'll do some more erosion control work if we get materials in time.

Please wear suitable clothes and sturdy footwear, a sense of humour, and bring water.

Parkcarers of Southern Murrumbidgee - end of year activity and picnic

Planned activities: We're having an end of year get together. First we'll finish doing the briar & hawthorn control on Point Hut Hill, and transplant some reeds if there's enough water in Barney's Gully. We'll finish up for the last hour or two, or however long you'd like to stay, with a picnic. Please bring something to share or just some lunch, and if it's warm bring your bathers and a towel.

Parkcarers of Southern Murrumbidgee - November activity

Planned activities: We plan to go up Point Hut Hill with spray bottles to check & spray for briar, hawthorn and serrated tussock. We're looking forward to seeing all the beautiful native plants that grow on the hillside - the spring wildflowers will be gorgeous! And perhaps we'll see that echidna... If time permits we'll head along the river track too.

Meet: Point Hut Crossing carpark at 9am.

Planned activities: Planting, weed control on Point Hut Hill (and seeing all the beautiful native plants that grow on the hillside - the spring flowers will be gorgeous!), recording any fauna we encounter (birds, reptiles etc), and taking photos. We might be lucky and see the enormous echidna we saw a couple of years ago (Lauren has a great photo).

Parkcarers of Southern Murrumbidgee - August activity

Meet: Point Hut Crossing carpark at 9am.

Planned activities: Planting, working on the leaky weirs (erosion control work), wrangling serrated tussock (a noxious weed), recording any fauna we encounter (birds, reptiles etc), and taking photos.

Please wear suitable clothes and sturdy footwear, a sense of humour, and bring water. Wearing a few layers works well when it's cold as you can peel them off as you warm up.
