Fair Working Bee

Join the Friends of Mount Majura at the National Tree Day planting area behind The Fair in North Watson. Help remove pesky weeds around the young plants, give some extra protection by placing woody debris around the guards and improve the site by direct seeding of native grass and flowering plants. Give as little or as much time as you want.

National Tree Day planting - Mt Majura

Celebrate National Tree Day 2013 with a community planting party in the Mount Majura Nature Park. Get your hands dirty and local trees, shrubs and flowers into the ground.

This year we will be extending the 2012 planting in the nature park behind the “The Fair”.

National Tree Day is a wonderful opportunity for new and old neighbours of Mount Majura to work together, get to know each other and promote the joys of our local bush environment. Holes will be already dug and water delivered so all will be in place on July 28th for an orgy of planting!

Friends of Jerrabomberra Wetlands Weeding Day

At the last couple of weeding days, we cleared some of the reeds from in front of one of the bird hides, so that the view of birds is not obscured and also cleared some of the woody weeds from the route of a new walking track.

There's always more to be done and it feels good to be getting some exercise while enhancing the wetlands.

The next weeding days will be at 9am -11.30am on Saturday 9 March and 9.30am - 12 noon on Tuesday 12 March. Bring water, and sun protection, long trousers and covered shoes are advised.
