Sustainable Development of East Lake Public Forum/Display

ACTPLA will be holding a public display and public forum on ideas for the sustainable development of East Lake on Tuesday the 30th of March. The displays will be available for viewing and comment from 3pm – 8:30pm in The McDonald Room at Eastlake Football Club, 3 Oxley Street, Griffith. The public forum will be held in the adjacent Duffy Room at the Eastlake Football Club, commencing at 6:30pm. It is expected to finish at approximately 8:30pm.


Why do I do it?

On the third weekend of each month, armed with a long pole, a sample bottle and a big box of equipment, I set out to test theNew Picture water quality of three sites in the upper Queanbeyan River catchment for the Molonglo Catchment Health Indicator Programme (MCHiP) which is part of the national Waterwatch scheme.


Molonglo River Rescue Action Plan Launch

The Molonglo River Rescue Action Plan will be offically launched in May 2010 (exact date TBA). The Action Plan details actions required to rehabilitate the Molonglo River from its headwaters in Tallaganda National Park, down to its confluence with the Murrumbidgee River north-west of Canberra. The Action Plan was created through a Caring for our Country Grant and aims to facilitate on-ground works to restore this iconic water course. 


Managing horses on small properties - Queanbeyan

Two free seminars on sustainable horse property management will be held by the Molonglo, Ginninderra and Southern ACT Catchment Groups, with assistance from the ACT Natural Resource Management Council.
