Namadgi Wildlife Recovery Event

The second Namadgi Wildlife Recovery event is coming up and we’d love to have you join us!!

We are heading out to the Namadgi Visitor Centre to start on some intensive weed management to help our local wildlife post bushfires. We will be working on invasive weed mapping, hand-chipping exotic species in woodland around the Visitor Centre and planting maintenance in the endangered Box-Gum Woodland site.

We will finish the weed work at 3pm, with a lunch break around 1pm and people are welcome to have their lunch(BYO) in the picnic ground and enjoy the beautiful surroundings afterwards before heading home.

When: Saturday 8th May – 10am-3pm

Where: Namadgi Visitor Centre, Naas Road, Tharwa, ACT, 2602

Please Bring: Own lunch, water (at least 2L), gardening gloves, hat, rain coat, gaiters if you have them and please wear enclosed shoes, long pants and long sleeves. Please bring warm clothes, in case the weather changes.

We will bring hand tools, some gloves, first aid kit, sunscreen, additional drinking water for water-bottle refills, hand sanitizer, hand washing gear and disinfectant spray, hot water, tea and coffee. Due to COVID please bring your own gloves if you can.
