Earlier this year the Orroral Valley Fire burned through 80% of Canberra’s beloved Namadgi National Park on Ngunnawal Land. Due to COVID-19, Canberrans are unable to volunteer to help with the regeneration and recovery of Namadgi. But we can start with raising funds to coordinate a volunteer effort later in the year!
Join us by challenging yourself with a walk or run to raise money for Namadgi’s recovery throughout the month of May. Money raised will go to the Southern ACT Catchment Group for resources and co-ordination of volunteer efforts towards bushfire recovery in Namadgi.
Sign up, set your distance and fundraising goals and share your page with friends and family online to gain support while completing the challenge. You can post on your page with progress, updates, stories etc for your supporters, and encourage friends and family to join you in the challenge by creating a team.
Walk for Namadgi is such a great way to take action; get active for your physical and mental health; explore more of Canberra’s parks and reserves; connect virtually with your friends and family; and most importantly give your contacts an opportunity to contribute to the recovery of the precious Namadgi National Park.
