On Saturday (26th of November), Southern ACT Catchment Group, with assistance from the ACT Government under the 2021-2022 ACT Environment Grant Program, conducted the first of 4 weeds workshops to assist Landcarers in our member groups identify and tackle weeds in their patch.
Simon Lang from Willow and Environmental Management Services and an expert in the field of weed ID and treatment, shared his knowledge with the 17 attendees including ParkCare volunteers from Oakey Hill, Mt Taylor, Coolaman Ridge, Farrer Ridge, Tuggeranong Hill and Griffith Woodland, as well as a park ranger and an ANU Honours student
The coming year (2023) will have three more sessions to provide more opportunities for volunteers to upskill and share knowledge about basic weed ID and weed treatment.
